Getting Started

Q:How do I start tracking a product?

A: Simply paste any Amazon product link into the search bar on our homepage. We'll instantly show you the price history and give you the option to set up price alerts.

Q:Do I need to create an account?

A: You can view price history without an account. However, to set up price alerts and track products, you'll need to sign in using Google OAuth or a magic link sent to your email.

Price Alerts

Q:How do price alerts work?

A: Set your target price for any product, and we'll monitor it daily. When the price drops to or below your target, you'll receive an instant email notification. After the alert triggers, it's automatically deactivated to prevent spam.

Q:How often do you check prices?

A: We check prices daily through our automated system. Price data is updated every 24 hours, and alerts are checked once per day.

Q:What happens after an alert triggers?

A: Once a price alert triggers and you receive the notification email, the alert is automatically set to inactive. You'll need to create a new alert if you want to continue monitoring that product.

Q:Can I set multiple alerts for the same product?

A: Yes! You can create multiple alerts for the same product with different target prices if you want to be notified at various price points.

Q:How do I delete or pause an alert?

A: You can manage all your alerts from your dashboard. Simply mark an alert as paused to temporarily stop notifications, or delete it entirely if you're no longer interested.

Q:Which Amazon regions does RiverPrice support?

A: We support 10 Amazon regions: United States (.com), United Kingdom (.co.uk), Germany (.de), France (.fr), Japan (.co.jp), Canada (.ca), Italy (.it), Spain (.es), India (.in), and Mexico (.com.mx). Visit our Supported Regions page for more details.

Q:Can I track products from different Amazon regions?

A: Absolutely! Each Amazon region is tracked separately, so you can monitor the same product across multiple countries to find the best deal globally.

Q:Do prices show in my local currency?

A: Prices are displayed in the native currency of the Amazon region (USD for US, GBP for UK, EUR for Germany/France/Italy/Spain, JPY for Japan, CAD for Canada, INR for India, and MXN for Mexico).

Price History & Data

Q:How accurate is the price history?

A: Our price data is sourced from trusted providers of Amazon price tracking data. We store daily price snapshots to show you accurate historical trends. However, prices on Amazon can change rapidly, so always verify the current price on Amazon before purchasing.

Q:How far back does price history go?

A: Price history depends on when the product was first tracked in our database or available through our data provider. Some products may have months or years of history, while newly added products will build history over time.

Q:Why doesn't my product have price history?

A: If a product is very new or hasn't been tracked before, it may not have historical data yet. We'll start collecting price data from the moment you first track it, building a history over time.

Privacy & Security

Q:Is my data secure?

A: Yes. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication (passwordless magic links and OAuth), and encrypted data storage. We only collect the minimum data needed to provide our service. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Q:Do you sell my personal information?

A: Never. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your email and tracking data are used solely to provide you with our price tracking service.

Q:What data do you collect?

A: We collect your email address (for alerts and authentication), the products you track (ASINs and target prices), and basic usage data to improve our service. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Technical Questions

Q:Why am I not receiving price alert emails?

A: Check your spam/junk folder first. If emails aren't there, ensure your email address is correct in your profile settings. You can also add hello@riverprice.com to your contacts to ensure delivery. If problems persist, contact us at hello@riverprice.com.

Q:The price on Amazon is different from what RiverPrice shows. Why?

A: Price data is updated daily, so there may be a delay between Amazon's current price and our last update. Amazon prices can also vary based on seller, shipping location, and promotions. Always verify the current price on Amazon before purchasing.

Q:Can I use RiverPrice on mobile?

A: Yes! Our website is fully responsive and works great on mobile devices. Simply visit riverprice.com on your phone or tablet. A dedicated mobile app may come in the future!

Q:Is there a Chrome extension?

A: Not yet, but it's coming soon! The Chrome extension will let you track products and view price history directly on Amazon product pages. Stay tuned!
